Imagine to shape what comes next
After a lovely summer break, I’m back. And planning my new year with a little imagination. We can all do that because we each possess an Imagination that gifts us an ability to adapt and evolve as times inevitably, change. Often needed when a new year ticks over and that feeling comes, that 2024 ought not be a mirror image of the year gone. And the year before that.
Very handy, too, when our professional lives and our businesses are so often on the move. Being adaptable, through imagination, does not mean you have to accept the ‘world as it is’, blend in like a chameleon. Rather, it means questioning why our world is a particular way and whether those ideas (mental models) are still fit-for-purpose. Critically thinking ‘why’ and then, using the skills imagination grants us to shape a better future if needed. Could we be doing better on a few fronts? I believe we can always do better.
Imagination is a pathway to positive change. With its link to optimism and joy, it feeds us hope, to look forward to our tomorrows. It is the seed that motivates us to craft a better future so we might all benefit.
Imagination is my life’s work; I rediscovered it in lockdowns when my dreams spurred me onto laugh out loud despite the isolation of lockdowns. Now, I share imagination so you, too, might build a wellbeing resilience, touch joy, hope and optimism. And gain the many more benefits imagination gifts us; the more than 10 life and professional skills, all essential tools for planning our futures. What might happen next?
